ÖZET

COVID-19 pandemisi, dünya çapında toplumları ve toplulukları etkileyen önemli bir eşik ve kırılma noktası olmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı küresel bir kriz olarak yaşanan pandeminin bireyin gündelik hayatına dair etkilerini anlamaktır. Özellikle gençler üzerine odaklanan araştırmanın genel çerçevesi yaşanan değişimin üç farklı dönemde boylamsal olarak incelenmesine dayanır. Bu makale ise araştırmanın ikinci dönemi olarak belirlenen Mayıs-Temmuz 2021 yılında sürdürülen ve nitel verilerin elde edilmesine dayanan dönemi kapsar. Pandeminin neden olduğu en belirgin etki olarak makine/araç etrafında yeniden kurgulanan “yeni” toplumsallıkların ve yaşam biçimlerinin varlığıdır. Bu durum insan sonrası yaklaşımlar çerçevesinde minör bilim ve yeni materyalizm kavramları ile tartışılmış ve açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Yaşanan pandemi krizi, makro sistemlerden gündelik hayat pratiklerine kadar birçok alanda kırılganlıklara neden olmuştur. Bir diğer önemli kırılganlık etkisi ise sosyal bilimsel çalışmalarda yaşanmıştır. Çalışmanın bir diğer tartışılan odak noktası ise kriz anlarında sosyal bilimsel çalışmaların nasıl sürdürüleceğine dair temel sorunsaldır. Bu nedenle sosyal bilimlerin pandemide araştırma yapmanın zorlukları ve imkanları da deneyimlenen bir araştırma pratiği olarak sunulmuştur.

ABSTRACT

TRACKING THE “NEW” SOCIALITIES THAT ARE INCOMING: ON THE EXPERIENCES, OBSERVATIONS AND FORECASTS OF YOUTH IN THE PANDEMIC

The COVID-19 pandemic has been an important threshold and breaking point affecting societies and communities around the world. The aim of this study is to understand the effects of the pandemic, which is a global crisis, on the everyday life of the individual. The general framework of the research, which focuses especially on young people, is based on the longitudinal analysis of the change experienced in three different periods. This article, on the other hand, covers the period between May- July 2021, which is determined as the second period of the research, and based on the acquisition of qualitative data. The most obvious effect caused by the pandemic is the existence of “new” socialities and lifestyles reconstructed around the machine/medium. This situation has been discussed and tried to be explained with the concepts of minor science and new materialism within the framework of post- human approaches. The pandemic crisis has caused fragilities in many areas from macro systems to daily life practices. Another important vulnerability effect has been experienced in social science studies. One of the important discussion points of the study is the basic problem of how to continue social scientific studies in times of crisis. For this reason, the difficulties and opportunities of social sciences doing research in the pandemic are presented as an experienced research practice.
